Picture Spacing Calculator: Perfectly Arrange Your Wall Art

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Decorating a wall with pictures, paintings, or posters is super fun โ€” but getting the spacing right?

That can be surprisingly tricky! ๐Ÿ“

Too cramped and it feels crowded. Too far apart and it looks disconnected.
Our simple Picture Spacing Calculator is designed to help you arrange your art like a pro, every time!

๐Ÿ™‹ What is a Picture Spacing Calculator?

A Picture Spacing Calculator helps you figure out:

  • How much space to leave between each frame
  • How to center a group of pictures on a wall
  • How wide your whole gallery will look when hung up

It does all the math for you, so you get even, beautiful spacing without the guesswork! ๐ŸŽฏ

๐Ÿ“ Measure Your Room Accurately

After calculating the ideal picture size and viewing distance, you’ll need accurate room measurements before mounting a TV, projector, or screen.

Recommended: Bosch BLAZE Pro Laser Measure

  • โœ” Fast one-button measurements
  • โœ” More accurate than a tape measure
  • โœ” Great for projector throw distance calculations
  • โœ” Ideal for home theater installations

๐Ÿ“ What You Need to Use the Calculator

Before you start, just grab:

  • Wall width (in inches, centimeters, or meters)
  • Number of pictures you want to hang
  • Width of each picture (frames included)
  • Desired space between pictures (optional, if you already have an idea)

The calculator will then tell you:

  • โœ… Total width needed for all pictures + spaces
  • โœ… Perfect spacing if you want it auto-calculated
  • โœ… Where to start hanging on your wall

๐Ÿ”ฅ How to Calculate Picture Spacing (Example)

Let’s say you have:

  • A wall that is 120 inches wide
  • 4 pictures you want to hang
  • Each picture is 18 inches wide
  • You don’t specify a gap โ€” you want it automatically calculated.

๐ŸŽฌ Best Budget Projector Screen

Now that you’ve calculated the perfect image size, the next step is choosing a screen that matches those dimensions.

Recommended: VEVOR 100-Inch Pull-Down Projector Screen

  • โœ” Popular 16:9 widescreen format
  • โœ” Ideal for home theaters and media rooms
  • โœ” Wall or ceiling mounting options
  • โœ” Works with most 1080p and 4K projectors

Hereโ€™s how the spacing works:

  1. Total width of pictures = 4 ร— 18 = 72 inches
  2. Remaining space = 120 – 72 = 48 inches
  3. Divide by 5 gaps (one on each side and between pictures): 48 รท 5 = 9.6 inches

โœ… Result: You should leave about 9.6 inches between each picture and at the ends for a perfectly centered layout!

๐Ÿ† Ready for a Bigger Screen?

If you’re using this calculator to determine projector placement, a modern projector can create images far larger than even the biggest TVs.

Recommended: Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02

  • โœ” Full HD 1080p resolution
  • โœ” Bright image for living rooms
  • โœ” Easy setup and streaming support
  • โœ” Excellent entry-level home theater projector
