**Total Current with Parallel Resistance Formula**

**R _{total} = (1/R_{1} + 1/R_{2} + 1/R_{3 }+…. + 1/R_{n})^{-1}**

**I _{total} = V/R_{total}**

**Example Calculation**

Consider four resistors in parallel: 1 Ω, 2 Ω, 3 Ω, 4 Ω and 5 Ω. The total effective resistance is 0.44 Ω.

For a voltage value of 5V, the total current is 5/0.44 = 11.42 A
